5 Signs Your Child Panics Under Exam Pressure

The 5 Hidden Signs

1. Scores drop in the last third of the exam

If questions 1-25 are 80% correct but questions 26-35 are 40% correct, that's panic — not difficulty.

2. They change more than 15% of their answers

Answer-changing above 15% correlates with lower scores. They're second-guessing, not correcting.

3. Time per question drops suddenly

If they spend 60s per question for Q1-Q20, then 15s per question for Q21-Q35, they're rushing under pressure.

4. Accuracy drops after 2-3 consecutive wrong answers

Getting a few wrong triggers a spiral — they rush, guess, and get more wrong.

5. Their practice scores are inconsistent

Swinging between 55% and 85% suggests performance depends on mental state, not knowledge.

What You Can Do

These patterns are invisible from a score sheet. You need per-question timing and accuracy data to detect them.
